With his hefty 271-point lead, UM Ftball Tiger is still not catching much flack from his erstwhile pursuers this week.
#2 BlueRaider95 differs only on two Saturday games (UTEP over Rice and WKU over FIU) and the bonus (see below), while #3 odu09's only differences are two picks in tonight's games (UTSA over ODU -- he rarely picks ODU! -- and MTenn over UTEP).
The rest of the Top 5 are in lockstep with our Fearless Leader. And #6 owlcarlos has only one variance (WKU over FIU) and #7 Mike77 also has only one difference (UTEP over Rice).
There's also very little discordance in the Bonus Picks at the top of the leaderboard. UM leads the way with FIU-Place, and 4 of the next 6 followed with the less-courageous FIU-Show choice. Our valiant outliers are BlueRaider95 (Marshall-Show) and #4 TikiOwl (LaTech-Show).
Shall we be called the Lemming League? We're all playing not to lose rather than to challenge for the win? Or are we waiting for UM's inevitably rock-solid chalk picks to crumble in the conference and NCAA tournament rounds?
(Of course, falling from 2nd to 5th was my prize for daring to be different. :-( )
Good luck to all!

Indeed! Just when he needed it the most, BlueRaider95 had the league's best score -- 308 -- to gain 119 points on UM Ftball Tiger (189). He had two 29-point picks that UM missed, and picked up 50 Bonus points on FIU-Show.
He just nosed you out, Commish, for the best round. But your 307 was very impressive, since you had no Bonus points. Those two perfect-margin 50s helped you out quite a bit!
The week's 3rd best total was #23 USM72's 304, which included 75 Bonus points (NTex-Place) and one 50.

Just wanted to say I've been reading these posts all season and they have been fun. Thanks for doing it, it's usually a thankless task, so THANK YOU! And our battle for 3rd is as tight as ever.

Thanks, odu09. I enjoy watching (and reporting on) the ebb and flow of the competition. Lately, I've been going back through my old emails to see how successful folks have been in overtaking the past-years' leaders over the final few weeks. Hope to have something to post in the next day or so.
You're spot on about the current race for 3rd: Five of us are within 38 points of each other. Whose picks -- favorites or upsets? -- will be best?
Good luck to all!!
