With only 12 games left -- 6 today Dec. 31), 5 tomorrow and the Jan. 7 Championship -- the leaderboard has tightened up. autiger and WKUFan518 are only 10 points apart, just as they were before the Bowl Round started. But Motley Blazer has moved up to within 27 points of first place.
=== -- + + + -- ===
The Top 2's Bonus Question choice -- Missouri to Place and Show, respectively -- plays today, while Motley's Bonus pick (Georgia/Show) competes in tomorrow's final game.
=== -- + + + -- ===
Since autiger had Oklahoma winning it all, he's surely glad that picking the Championship winner does not carry any bonus points. Motley only differs from autiger in three games (Okie State, UCF & Clemson to win) while WKUFan picked five different winners (VaTech, Pitt, Michigan State, NCState & Alabama). With their point differential so close, any advantage -- especially a 50-point perfect-margin pick -- would be important.
=== -- + + + -- ===
Lurking a little farther back are crafdog (-87) and blazers9911 (-109), and only 27 points separate the next 8 in 6th through 13th place. crafdog can't get Bonus points with his Washington State/Win pick. But blazers9911 has a second shot with his Alabama/Show choice.
=== -- + + + -- ===
It seems that picking Bowl winners has been much more difficult than predicting regular-season victories. Quite a few favored teams have just not shown up on the field and have gotten blown out. autiger has picked only 14 winners in the 28 games to date, and WKUFan has chosen just 13 and also suffered a lock-loss. Motley's gotten close to the top via 18 winner picks, including one perfect-margin bonus.
=== -- + + + -- ===
The best picker has been USM72, who has 21 winners, including one perfect margin. His 398 points have vaulted him up from 18th into 6th place. But he needs 149 more than autiger to overtake the leader, and that would seem to be unlikely, as his remaining winner's picks are the same, except for Alabama as champion and his Georgia/Place Bonus pick. USM72 will surely be praying for several perfect-margin picks to close the gap.

Good luck to all!

WKUFan518's Military Bowl pick VaTech loses to Cincinnati by 4, which enables Motley Blazer to jump over him into 2nd place: autiger/3,266 - Motley/3,241 - WKUFan/3,231. (Note: my unofficial point-total estimates)

Pitt loses, too, to Stanford, 14-13, in the Sun Bowl. It's looking like it's not WKUFan518's day.

WKUFan518's now 0-3 today, as Michigan State loses to Oregon, 7-6, in the Redbox Bowl. === -- + + + -- === It looked like the Spartans had a chance after Oregon executed what has to be the worst-ever messed-up fake FG/Punt/"whatever" play with 6:31 left in the game. But Michigan State's holder bobbled the snap on a 50-yard FG attempt with 1:43 in the game. And after MSU stopped the Ducks and used their timeouts in the next series, a 4th-&-long pass slid off the fingertips of the Spartan receiver. === -- + + + -- === Oklahoma State is leading Missouri by 16 points after 3Q, so Motley Blazer's prospects are looking up.

Missouri scored on 86- and 55-yard plays early in 4Q to come within 2 points of Oklahoma State. But a blocked Tiger FG and an OSU FG gave the Cowboys a 5-point win. Unfortunately for WKUFan518, he went with autiger and picked Mizzou to win, so he drops to 0-4 today. === -- + + + -- === Motley Blazer DID pick OSU, and my unofficial count shows that he's now just 3 points behind the leader, autiger, 3,309-3,306. But the Tigers ammassed a whopping 637 total yards to move them into 2nd place of the Bonus Question race -- the "Place" bet -- which was exactly what autiger had picked. If it holds up, this pick may be what gives autiger the title. (Motley's Bonus pick, Georgia/Show, plays in Tuesday's final bowl game. === -- + + + -- === Good luck to all!

Northwestern had Monday's top upset: beating Utah by 11. High on the leaderboard, only 8th-place goliath74 picked the Wildcats. He was also one of the few to chose Oklahoma State ... but he also picked losers VaTech and NCState, so he didn't advance much.
=== -- + + + -- ===
9th-ranked UM Ftball Tiger predicted perfectly Oregon's 1-point victory margin, which I think will shoot him up into 5th place.
=== -- + + + -- ===
My unofficial top 4 are: autiger-3,319; Motley Blazer-3.316; WKUFan518-3,231 & crafdog-3,221.
=== -- + + + -- ===
The Bonus leaders are Baylor-668; Missouri-637 & Army-592.
=== -- + + + -- ===
On New Year's Day, we will have five Bowls. Among the leaders, only two have a different pick that might move them up (or down) the standings ... not counting perfect-margin 50-pointers, of course. Motley Blazer picked UCF in the Fiesta Bowl. But with autiger's Bonus Pick of Missouri/Place looking good for the moment, Motley will probably need a UCF win and a Georgia/Show (or better) in the Bonus results to grab the title, despite autiger having no one in the NCAA Championship game. Also, #4 crafdog could move into 3rd place if Iowa wins the day's first bowl (Outback).

Good luck to all!!
