Not much time this morning ... but here's a quick summary of the Week 5 picks by the leaderboard's Top 50: \ -- ### -- / 1) Unanimous to 48-2 winners were picked in seven of this week's 12 games. The most competitive games are Notre Dame over Stanford and ECU over ODU (both 37-13) and Ohio State over Penn State (39-11). \ -- ### -- / 2) Thirteen different teams were selected for the Bonus Question (Fewest Turnovers). The most popular picks were FIU (11: 4 win /4 place /3 show) and Auburn (10: 4/4/3). \ -- ### -- / 3) After moving up from 48th to 44th place last week with no lock-picks, techdawg88 made a staggering 11 lock-picks this week. His 10-point choice of North Texas over his own LaTech Bulldogs was his only non-locked pick this week.

My woeful Rice Owls gave our expert host, ICB, and techdawg88 big lock-pick wins this afternoon ... worth 100 (on the nose!) and 72 points, respectively. Those profitable choices moved ICB up from 21st to 7th place ... and techdawg88 from 44th to 28th. Congrats!!

Four teams -- FIU, UAB, LaTech & Notre Dame -- had no turnovers this week, and thus tied for the "win" (as well as the "place" and "show") in the Week 5 Bonus Question (Fewest Turnovers). As mentioned above, 11 of the leaderboard's Top 50 picked FIU (4-win/4-place/3-show). Five had picked UAB (1-win/4-show); none in the Top 50 chose LaTech or Notre Dame. \ -- ### -- / The league leader (Herd football) had the Panthers to Show. The closest competitors to Herd football who got the Bonus Question correct are about 200 points behind him ... and none chose the "Win" option. ... So it's likely that most are going to lose ground relative to the leader this week. \ -- ### -- / My unofficial, manual (and probably error-prone) tally shows that techdawg88 got three of his 11 locks correct, netting 224 points for those picks. But he lost 200 on the 8 missed lock-picks ... and his LaTech Bulldogs beat North Texas, but he didn't pick them in his only non-lock pick, so no points there. That nets to a weekly score of 24 (he had out-of-the-money Auburn on the Bonus Question), compared with the 196 point total that he'd have had if he'd made all the same picks without locks. What a tough week for him!
