UTEP has already won outright two "fewest" Bonus Questions this year (Week 3/Rushing Yards & Week 4/Pass Attempts), and we're nearly unanimous that the Miners will bring us some more big-time points this week (Fewest Total Yards) without actually winning the game. All of the Top 25 in our leaderboard picked UTEP for their Bonus Question Choice (2-win/14-place/9-show) and 17 of the next 25 were nearly as certain, as well (6/4/7). Rice was a distant second choice (1/1/2), with Mississippi St. (0/1/1), ODU (0/1/0) & UAB (0/0/1) also getting some votes. The Top 2 (Heard football & blazer74) picked "Place" ... so a UTEP-Show result could help tighten up the league standings. \ -- ## -- ## -- /

As for the game picks, with only 7 games -- Charlotte, FIU, USM & WKU have byes -- the Top 50 are virtually unanimous in their picks in all but one game: UTSA @Rice. The Top 25 picked the Owls, 13-12 ... but the next 25 have the 'Runners, 14-11 ... for an overall 26-24 margin in UTSA's favor. \ -- ## -- ## -- /

In the other games, the Top 50 went 50-0 in favor of North Texas and Oklahoma, 49-1 for Marshall, 47-3 for FAU, 44-6 for LaTech and 42-8 for Auburn. (The Top 25 were unanimous for Marshall, FAU.) Only #34 Noodles picked more than one of the upsets (Miss.St. & UAB). \ -- ## -- ## -- /

Despite our certainty with this week's game winners, lock-picks are not much of a factor: There are only two in the Top 50 -- both in the Top 25! League Commish ICB (#14 in the standings) hopes for a second straight lock win (North Texas by 33) while #16 djnva hopes to reverse last week's lock-loss by guaranteeing a 10-point win for LaTech.

Good luck to all!

It didn't take long to get the week's first upset: LaTech embarrassed Marshall, 34-24, in Huntington on Friday night!

Congrats to ODU fan "benny_t" -- #37 on the leaderboard -- who was the only on in the Top 50 to pick Middle Tennessee to win.

As I'd mentioned above, our Top 50 was unanimous that OU would beat Texas. But as with Friday's game, we were VERY wrong!!! Texas dominated for most of the game ... and escaped OU's late-game rush to win, 48-45, with a last-minute FG. Two players currently on the 3rd page of our leaderboard -- MTDieHard and brtransplant -- are the only ones to pick the 'Horns' victory.

Everyone picked UTEP... and they failed us all.

Talk about! Lots of low scores to go with all the upsets. Motley Blazer was tops with 157. He chose Rice/Place and jumped from 30th up to 8th place in the standings. brtransplant (141-Rice/Show) moved from 62nd to 55th.

BTW, it doesn't affect any scores, but I think LaTech (258 total yards) nosed out Auburn (304) for the Place result.

Will Week 7 be luckier for most of us?
